Once again, I've fallen a little behind in my blogging. A few weeks ago we spent the week down in Lamar with Jason. Of course, we picked the week that was over a hundred degrees all week! I am so not kidding. It was horrible. I almost melted. Uggh.
Here are a few places we visited. There was this really cute-looking crafting place I wanted to visit all week. I finally went in and well, it couldn't compare to the crafting stores in Denver, but it was alright for Lamar.

Wal-Mart. This is where everyone goes for everything. I'm not kidding. There really isn't anyplace else. We spent a lot of time here.
AND, just in case you want to jump back 15 years in the past - I found an official Bugle Boy Outfitter! The sign cracked me up every time I drove by! "Excuse me, Are those Bugle Boy jeans you're wearing?" I hope I'm not the only one old enough to remember that!
Lamar wasn't all that bad. The boys LOVED going to their library. It was very air-conditioned so I didn't mind either! It is much better than anything we have in Thornton. It is NEW and has a great little kids corner with toys and a puppet stage and puppets! I think they cried every time we left. Right next to the visitor center (where there is this great old black train the kids love) is Lamar's "forest". It isn't any bigger than any of our playgrounds in the suburbs but it is cute. Lamar is so dry they don't really have any trees. So this place is great. They call it The Enchanted Forest.

My little rock climbers!
A little old cabin
We also went to a playtime at the community center. Here's a video of the boys practicing to be rock stars. Before you watch let me just say that Wyatt gets his dancing skills from his dad!
Over the weekend we went to visit Jason's cousin Heather and her family in Garden City, Kansas. I think it was about 1 1/2 hours away? It had been about 2 years since we saw them. The boys loved visiting with their cousins Preston and Gracie.
Not sure what they are looking at. But they enjoyed just staring out the window!
Heather gave the boys corn dogs and french fries for lunch. Preston is quite the fan of french fries so when he ran out Noah shared his! How cute that he even fed him.
He's happy now that he's had his french fries!

Apparently Garden City's zoo is FREE! So we went to have a looksy. It is really a very cute zoo. I think I like it more than Denver's over-priced zoo. You can't really tell from the pics (I was just too hot to take very many) but it is very green and open.
The buffalo (or bison, I can never remember!) are so close that we could probably touch them if we put our hands thru the fence.

Luckily, Heather had enough strollers for all of us. These are all hers! The boys couldn't have made it without them.

Preston and Noah had fun playing on it.
